The beautiful display of poppies in the churchyard was planted for the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War in 2014 and then over the years until the celebrations to mark the end of the War in 2018.

The majority of those planted were called 'Centenary' and were planted by children in our Sunday Club, Make & Take After School Club and by pupils at St. Michael's School. The poppies help us and our young people to understand the impact of conflict and to remember the many who fought and lost their lives.
