In what promises to be one of the most momentous months in modern British political history; Aylsham Parish Church is hosting a series of World Class lectures on issues of Politics and Faith throughout October in memory of a well-known, and fondly remembered, priest who served the town of Aylsham for many years.

The Third Annual Rev’d John Pumphrey Autumn Talks at Aylsham Parish Church will consist of three lectures exploring some of the biggest questions which arise from discussions between the spheres of Politics and Theology: Does God have a place in public life? Can war ever be justified? What is the role of the established Church of England in 21st Century multi-cultural Britain?

The talks will be delivered by three of the nation’s best thinkers on these issues:

“God & The Public Square” by Rev’d Rose Hudson-Wilken, Chaplain to the Speaker of the House of Commons and Bishop of Dover Elect; Wednesday, October 9th.

“Faith & The Political” by Dr Elizabeth Phillips, Faculty of Divinity University of Cambridge; Wednesday, October 16th.

“God & War” by Major General Tim Cross CBE, General Officer Commanding Theatre Troops During the Iraq War; Monday, October 21st.

Talks start at 7:30pm on Wednesdays October 9, 16 and Monday 21, at Aylsham Parish Church. Admission is free
